"Transsexual" Teen: "I Will Kill" School Supervisor for "Speaking [My] Dead Name" - Women Are Human

BR — Minas Gerais. A student described as “transsexual” is being investigated by civil police after allegedly threatening to follow home and murder a school supervisor for “speaking [my] dead name” during roll call “every day.”

The teenager, who is male and identifies as female, complained in a video shared to his Instagram that a supervisor of a school in Minas Gerais, Brazil regularly uses his legal name, though “I have already spoken on registration day: I want my social name” used.

He raged that any school administrator “thinks they have the right to look at my documents and put the name on file” despite his wishes.

“I haven’t been to class for a week, but every day someone is telling me that the supervisor is going there and speaking her dead name every day during roll call,” the student ranted.

‘Dead name’ refers to the name an individual used prior to declaring a transgender identity.

In the video, a teenager appears to be brandishing a knife and vowing:

Not even the holes in Campos Gerais will be as big as the ones I’m going to make in your chest.

Today I will find out where you live. … Today I will kill you.

I will kill you.

The teenager added that he had consulted a lawyer about his rights. “Any student, whether trans or cis, has the right to a social name, understand? And the school has to respect that.”

“A student makes several threats against a teacher of an educational institution in this city … because when the call is made in the classroom, the registration name was used,” a spokesman for the civil police explained.

“The student identifies as transgender, so not accepting to be called that, she went to social media and made the threats.”

The supervisor went to the police station and filed a report because she “felt threatened and at risk of imminent physical danger,” the spokeman said. The civil police launched an investigation to see whether criminal charges would be filed.

In a statement to Redemaish, school authorities denied that the student’s registered name was ever mentioned in the roll call, and noted that the teen often misses class.
