Homophobic graffiti on Ladyboys of Bangkok, Brighton - The Argus
The offensive term was sprayed over a logo for The LadyBoys of Bangkok, which visits Brighton each year and is extremely popular in the area.
People walking past the travelling show, currently set up on Brighton's Valley Gardens, have shared their disgust at the slur.
“This is supposed to be one of the most welcoming cities in the country,” said one person, who chose to remain anonymous.
“Who the hell thinks this is acceptable? It’s a complete joke.
“Everyone loves the Ladyboys show and it’s great that they come here. This is just a huge shame, and really not representative of how most of the people in our city think or feel.”
And their sentiments were shared by MP for Kemptown Lloyd Russell-Moyle, who slammed the vulgar wording.

He said: “Brighton and Hove has enjoyed the Ladyboys for decades now, and anyone that has any objection to it should quite frankly get out of our city, because they are not welcome here.”
The Ladyboys show will open on Friday (April 28), but the usual excitement leading up to the event has been dampened by the graffiti incident.
“Why someone would write that is beyond me,” said another person who was walking past.
“It doesn’t make us look very good, does it? I hope this doesn’t affect whether they choose to come back next year, because it’s such good fun.
“Just who are these scumbags that feel they can go around writing this sort of thing? Get them before the courts to face justice for their actions.”
Sussex Police were contacted for comment.
The Ladyboys of Bangkok cabaret show began in 1998 after a show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival went down a storm.
Publicist for the show Tony Wilkie-Millar previously told The Daily Record that when the show first began, “you couldn’t get a seat for love nor money”.
Now, some 25 years on, the Ladyboys have performed to more than one million people – with no sign of slowing down.
